Wildlife2000 was started by Jerry Mallet and Sherri Tippie to provide an option for beaver being killed in Aurora, Colorado. Over 33 years and a thousand beaver later, Tippie is now probably the best known and foremost live trapper of beaver in the world.
Tippie insists on the most ethical standards for live-trapping and relocation. She keeps families together, only traps and relocates when kits are out of the lodge and exploring their world, and stops relocating at the beginning of September so families have time to construct a lodge and prepare a food cache for winter. This is critical to the success of any beaver reintroduction. Tippie takes every precaution to ensure a successful reintroduction.
